Program Description:

Hyderabad, India
  • Earn up to 16 credits per semester studying abroad in Hyderabad; no previous Indian language study is required.
  • Live in an international student residence on campus.
  • A fall semester Community Engagement Program (CEP) is available in addition to the Traditional Academic Program (fall/spring semesters).
  • Enjoy cultural and social activities such as a guided tour of Hyderabad, visits to Chowmahalla Palace, Qutb Sahi Tombs, Hussain Sagar and Buddha Statue, colorful markets and bazaars, Indian cooking lessons, traditional dance lessons and more.
  • A 6-day Golden Triangle Tour with visit to the Taj Mahal is included in the program fee.
  • Optional excursions include a 4-day trip to Ajanta and Ellora ($345), a 3-day trip to Mumbai ($545) and a 4-day trip to Kerala ($575).
  • Tuition and transcripts provided by the University of Hyderabad.

SPU Partner Program: Tier 7

Seattle Pacific University has partnered with affiliated organizations or host universities that have been vetted for their academic and student support. Partner Programs are eligible for federal, state, and institutional grants and scholarshps.
For SPU Partner Programs, you will be charged one quarter of SPU tuition for participation during fall quarter or winter/spring quarters combined. Depending on the tier level of the selected program, an additional fee for tiers 2-10 will be charged. For fee information, see Partner Program Cost.

What's Included:

  • Pre-departure resources including online course descriptions, an information handbook and an online AIFS account

  • Meal Plan: 3 meals per day in residence hall
  • Excursions and day trips including a 6-day tour of the Golden Triangle including the Taj Mahal, Jaipur and Delhi and visits to Golconda Fort and Charminar
  • Cultural and social activities including a guided tour of Hyderabad, visits to Chowmahalla Palace, Qutb Shahi Tombs, Hussain Sagar and Buddha Statue, Hyderabad’s colorful markets and bazaars, ‘Cyberabad’s’ local IT businesses, Indian cooking lessons and traditional Indian dance lessons
  • Resident Director to help with any questions or advice you may need while in India
  • Orientation workshops to help you get to know your classmates better, familiarize you with the local area, advise you about living in Hyderabad and to help you adjust to Indian culture
  • Volunteer opportunities with local organizations are available.

What's Not Included: 
  • Airfare
  • $50 non-refundable application fee
  • $300 non-refundable fee will be due as part of your SPU application and considered your commitment to the program. As SPU has a capacity of 50 students every year for Partner Programs, this fee would be refunded if your application was submitted after we reached capacity.

  • Generally, students spend more money while they are abroad than during a typical quarter at SPU. These costs vary per student, and are usually associated with extra in-country and personal travel, eating out, entertainment, and purchasing gifts and souvenirs.
