SPU Study Abroad considers SPU faculty and staff essential partners in achieving the campus-wide internationalization goals. We work with faculty to ensure high-quality study abroad experiences that integrate into the SPU curriculum, and to identify opportunities which will best meet each student’s academic and personal objectives.
Studies have shown that faculty have the most influence on a student's decision to study abroad. Faculty members across campus are a valuable resource in program selection and program development. The Study Abroad Office works with faculty to enhance awareness about existing options that best suit students in the various disciplines. Facilitating access to these opportunities with full faculty support is a top priority.
Whether you are interested in working with us to suggest or evaluate potential program offerings, leading an SPU faculty-led study abroad program or looking for information about education abroad for advising purposes, we look forward to working with you! Faculty are key to the sustainable success of study abroad. In addition to their interaction with students in the classroom where we encourage promotion of study abroad as an integrated part of the undergraduate curriculum, faculty also have the opportunity to work with Study Abroad Office to plan, create, and teach on a study abroad program.
